Capital Punishment and Pro-Life

October 18, 2024- Friday There is a man in Texas whose name is Robert Roberson III.  Today he is on Death Row in Huntsville, Texas awaiting his execution.  He was scheduled to be put to death last night at 6:00 p.m.  The Pardons and Parole Board of Texas refused to stay his execution.  The governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, refused to stay his execution.  The Supreme Court of the United States refused to stay his execution.  The Texas Supreme Court stepped in and stayed the execution of Robert Roberson.  Why did so many governmental leaders refuse to stay the execution of this man? Robert Roberson, a man diagnosed at some point with autism, had been convicted of murder.  Allegedly, he had killed his two-year-old baby by shaking the baby to death.  The prosecution used the "shaken baby" phenomenon as the cause of death and the reason to kill Mr. Roberson. Evidence has since discovered there could have been a variety of reasons why the baby died, ...

Dallas Cowboys Loss to Detroit

October 15, 2024- Tuesday The most poignant moment of the Dallas Cowboys' loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday for me was actually after the game.  Videographers showed the Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones walking through the tunnel from the field to the locker room and it was as quiet as a tomb.  There was no talking.  No yelling.  All that could be heard was the click of shoes against the concrete floor.  The fourth straight home loss and largest defeat in thirty years resulted in quiet.  The Cowboys were playing probably the best team in the National Football Conference and the Cowboys had no chance of winning this game even if none of their key players were injured.  The Cowboys were tossed around the field by Detroit as if it was a team of professionals playing against a team of back-up players and rookies.  That is exactly where Dallas is and this is the "all in" team Jerry Jones provided for Coach Mike McCarthy.  A team of back-up players ...

Cowboys Beat Pittsburgh

The Dallas Cowboys beat the Pittsburgh Steelers last night, 20-17.  The win came with 20 seconds left in the game. The 4-yard pass from Dak Prescott to Jalen Tolbert just inside the end zone capped off a very hard-fought football game.  Prescott fumbled once and threw two interceptions but the team mostly of rookies and back-up players held together and fought to win.   I thought they would lose the game since Micah Parsons and DeMarco Lawrence were out on defense. I also anticipated Prescott would turn the ball over and he did not disappoint.  Pittsburgh really hurt themselves with penalties, but Dallas had their fair share of penalties too.  Dak and Dallas survived this game largely because of the good running of Rico Dowdle and in spite of the bad attitude of Cee Dee Lamb.  Way too much arrogance riding in Lamb these days.  Instead of working with Prescott to fix issues and find a way to win, Cee Dee was barking at Prescott on the sideline from...
