No More Ron DeSantis

January 2, 2024- Monday   Ron DeSantis got a little more attention on Sunday. He quit. It was a bit surprising, but the announcement came and then all the analysis started. DeSantis’ campaign seemed to be a little on the herky-jerky side. It started and then he decided to cover Iowa but ignore New Hampshire. He was going to stake his claim on South Carolina. Suddenly, he’s out. Well, the handwriting has been on the wall for quite a while now and DeSantis finally saw it and read it and internalized it. Donald Trump has a massive lead in every poll taken. He is now leading in every poll against Joe Biden. Donald Trump is the 800-pound gorilla in the Republican room. Nikki Haley will soon realize that there is not a lot she can do to reverse these numbers.   Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley have accomplished what they needed to do for this general election cycle. Their name identification and views are part of the public record and will be on full display again in 20...

The Dallas Cowboys- Now What?

January 19, 2024   The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for the 2024 season.  No, the NFL season is not finished but the Cowboys are finished for the 2023 season.  The beating they received at the hands of the Green Bay Packers showed the overall weakness of the Dallas Cowboys.  It actually showed the overall mediocrity of the Dallas Cowboys.   Yes, mediocrity.  Sure there are some really good players on the team.  Micah Parsons, Zac Martin, DeMarcus Lawrence, Brandon Aubrey, Bryan Anger, Trayvon Diggs, and……….  That’s the point.  This team is full of mediocre players.  They perform well and really pad their statistics when they are playing teams that are not very good and with losing records.  When they play teams who are playoff teams or teams with winning records, they fail.  Don’t talk to me about beating the Detroit Lions late in the year.  We all know if the r...

January 6th- A Huge Mistake

January 6, 2024- Saturday   This is my first post of 2024, and I am not going to push a lot of New Year’s resolutions verbiage like most people do at the beginning of a new year. Today is an anniversary of such. It is January 6th, the day when a strong number of people assembled at the nation’s Capital and eventually stormed the building.   Ashli Babbitt was involved in the demonstration and died while people attempted to breech the Capital. Her death should have never happened. That is the greatest sadness of this day for me .   Many people like to call this an insurrection. Many people traveled from across the country to participate in the demonstration that became much more than many thought it would. We are frequently told the Capital is the people’s Capital. Well, this bunch took it literally. They were all upset because Donald Trump had lost the presidential election, and they wanted their voiced heard.   Now, I venture into my opinion. I ...
