Trump, Tariffs and Outcomes

April 15, 2025- Tuesday Donald Trump has been playing tariff wars with every country in the world and the stock markets have exploded.  Many people have lost thousands of dollars from their retirement accounts. Some have gained a small portion of those losses back since Trump decided to give a 90 day pause to the tariffs but huge damage has been done. Trump had a very good motive to do this but his decision to go at it with a machete rather than a scalpel caused havoc and dismay .   He’s so arrogant he won’t listen to people who advise otherwise because he is so smarter than the rest of us so on with the damage .   All of these poorly considered decisions have an expiration date. He must get all of this settled, reversed and looking good by January 2026 or the Republicans ar e going to see an election bloodbath, the likes the Republicans have never seen before.   Both the House of Representatives and the Senate will go Democratic, and we will see another two ...

The Friend- Really Good Movie

I sat in a movie theater yesterday with seven other people to see a movie I had not seen any previews.  What got my attention for the movie was the Great Dane in a promotional photo.  I checked on the basic plot for the movie and decided it might be a good way to spend a Thursday afternoon.  What a good decision. "The Friend" was a very good drama that has been under publicized.  The movie features Naomi Watts in a role that allowed her to show how good of an actress she is.  The movie based on a novel by Sigrid Nunez was a very interesting story about how a person responded to the suicide of a good friend and was left with his dog.  I was so taken by how well Naomi Watts was able to say so much with her eyes and her expressions in this movie and how that dramatically contributed to the quality of the movie.   The movie was well written and allowed the actors in the movie to act.  The other very good and interesting performance was by Bill Mu...
