Bye, Bye Micah Parsons

August  31, 2025- Sunday   August 28, 2025 , is a day that will live in infamy if you are a Dallas Cowboys fan. Jerry Jones in his infinite wisdom decided it was time to trade the best player on the team.  Jones traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers for a defensive tackle on the downside of his career and two number 1 draft picks, one in 2026 and one in 2027.   Jerry Jones decided Micah Parsons best value to the Dallas Cowboys was to play for another team.  Jones is trying to replay history when the Cowboys traded Herschel Walker to the Minnesota Vikings for what ended up being five draft picks. This is a different time than the mid-1980's and there is no Jimmy Johnson around to evaluate players and what to do with those draft picks.   Jerry Jones as general manager of the Dallas Cowboys has failed to advance to the National Football Conference Championship Game for thirty years. Thirty years. How many other general managers would still be employe...

"It's Not My Fault"

Topic of the Day- Most of the time it’s not stolen it’s right where you left it.   This topic makes the assumption our initial response as humans are to blame others for any mistakes we make, or anything negative that happens to us. In many instances, that is probably a safe assumption. As we grow, we see people blaming others in one form or another for anything negative that intersects their lives. Many people blame their parents for the bad things in their lives. That is easy to do since all parents are not perfect. Others are quick to blame society in general for their p roblems because society has caused problems historically. Very few people seem to turn to themselves first when negative things happen. We are human and we make mistakes. Most negative things that happen are our own mistakes but too many of us don’t want to own our mistakes. We think others will think less of us if w e admit our mistakes. We also think others will see us as incompetent. Inherently, we want t...

Is the Target Actively Drawing a Person?

August 2 Topic of the Day- The arrow doesn’t seek the target; the target draws the arrow. Yes, we must set goals, chase what we want, and cast our lines in the water. But don’t forget, the spider waits in his web for dinner to come.   This is one of those thoughts that is in error from its conception. We determine the targets in our world. We can be drawn to certain things in life, but it is up to us to establish our own targets. All the action is determined by us, and all the energy is furnished by us, not a target. We can be overly interested in an end result , but that interest is embedded within us. Once we have achieved a target or goal, we move on. If we continue to pound the target, then that constitutes a certain pathology that should be addressed by medical professionals. For our own growth, we need to accept that to grow in our life, on e target should be replaced by better targets or go a ls which allow us to grow as people.   There is another les...

Racism- Part 4

August 20, 2025- Wednesday Throughout my career, I worked to continue to provide equivalent care to people. I also worked to build positive working environments for the people who worked in my departments and those I hired .  I hired all kinds of people to work .  I worked to find people who I thought would provide good care and who could communicate well with patients .  I specifically mention communication because I had found how important it was to be able to communicate to patients what was going on with them and around them .  Hospitals and healthcare can be very confusing, and it can be frightening .  A nurse's ability to communicate was very important .  That eliminated a large number of people when I interviewed individuals .  If they could not communicate well with me during an interview, I knew they would not communicate well with patients .       This is when I learned racism could run both ways .  Many times, I ...
