Personal Revelations

Topic of the Day: Revelations are  live and  always happen for the first time. When was the last time you had one? Probably because   of my religious upbringing, I have developed a conservative mentality about most things. I sometimes tell people I am just to the right of Ronald Reagan in my political beliefs. I like to think I review  situations and then decide what I think is right. I  do not  want to think  I’m  ever  uninformed about  something.  My first revelation had to do with the death penalty. I have always been in favor of the death penalty when someone has killed someone else. Then DNA testing came along. When DNA testing started exonerating peo ple in prison on life sentences or death sentences , I began to rethink my position. Too many prisoners were found to be innocent. I changed my opinion. Now, I still believe in the death penalty but only when there has been a witnessed killing by at least two people. I would not ...

Kimmel, Free Speech & Hatred

September 30, 2025 The One of the big stories in the news the last couple of weeks surrounds inaccurate comments Jimmy Kimmel made  regarding  conserv ative’s responses to the murder of Charlie Kirk. Jimmie Kimmel is considered a comedian but in recent years he has worked to become more of a funny poli ti cal commentator. He is ultra- liberal,  and I never found him to be funny. He made some inaccurate comments  about   conservatives which he has a right to do  and reportedly, does   frequently . Some of the independent companies who are ABC affiliates decided  it  was time to remove Kimmel’s show from their  programming . This  was  also their right. L iberals are yelling and screaming this is  s tifling free speech. Now  they’re  using the term  fascist  for those responsible for Kimmel  being  taken off the air. Were the inflammatory comments about Kirk and conservatives why Kimmel was remo...

The Tie That Does Not Bind (In the NFL)

September 29, 2025- Monday  This is the morning after the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers played to a 40 to 40 tie.  If we look at how this tie  impacts  the teams.  Green Bay is one of  the  teams many consider a Super Bowl  contender,  so this tie is more of a loss for them in the standings. For the Cowboys, this is more of a win because the Cowboys were expected to  lose this game and are not expected to even be in the playoffs. It is a game that shines a  bright  light on the new NFL   overtime rules where a game can end in a tie.  This needs to change. If we are going to keep  score in a game, there needs to be a winner. The NFL needs to move to the college football overtime rules. This adds tremendous  excitement,  and it provides a winner. I think the NFL leadership is negligent to even consider  an option  where a tie game is  a possible outcome .      ...

Acetaminophen and Misinformation

September  25, 2025- Thursday   Two days ago, President Trump, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy, and Dr. Mehmet Oz stood in a press conference and tal ked about the ties between the use of acetaminophen and autism. The causes of autism have been a campaign Robert Kennedy has been on for years which is laudable. One of Kennedy’s big initiatives when appointed to his position was to discover the cause of autism so we can rid society of autism.   There have been scientific studies performed to attempt to isolate the causes of autism, but all the studies have been inconclusive. The studies posed several key observations. They use the words the following about acetaminophen, could have been involved, might be involved, and possibly could be . In looking at research studies, all of those observations indicate there is not enough information about the study to reach any conclusions. The fact is that these studies should not have b ...

Revolting Against Moderation

September 14, 2025- Sunday There are some people who consider me a pessimist. There are not many people who embrace that moniker . Most people who reject that label, call themselves realists. That is what I am, a realist. Too many times, I mention something that is a negative thought or observation only because I can fore see that negative things may happen. This is not because I am clairvoyant but because I have seen human behavior repeat itself too many times, so the probability is high. Unfortunately, I am right again.   Charlie Kirk, a conservative advocate, was murdered Wednesday as he was answering student questions at Utah Valley University. Kirk was murdered because of his political beliefs. As I k new would happ en, there have been liberal-minded people who believe it is okay Kirk was murdered because he did not agree with liberal ideologies.   To be fair, many liberals have come out saying violence should not happen. The point of this writing confronts t...

"You Be You"

September 12, 2025- Friday On Wednesday of this week, we witnessed the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. He was gunned down while speaking before several hundred people at Utah Valley Un iversity. Charlie had millions of followers and that is what caused fear in the hearts of those who disagreed with Charlie’s ideas.   It is interesting the person who went to extremes to kill someone whose ideas they opposed, immediately tucked tail and ran. Why did he run? If he believed what he was doing was necessary, why run? Why didn’t this person stand tall and proud and take respons ibility for their actio ns and what they believed?   This person ran because they knew what they had done was wrong. For some unknown reason they believe they will escape with having committed a terrible wrong. The liberals will want to point to the gun being the pro blem, not the person behind the gun. The liberals will want to point to the need for mental health funding when they w...
