Universities and Free Speech

A University of Virginia professor has offered extra credit to students who will attend a pro-Palestinian demonstration today. The news media is investigating to see if the intent of the extra credit is to support pro-Palestinian positions or if the extra credit is being given so the student will see what a politically motivated demonstration is all about.  

This situation comes on the heels of several student groups at Harvard University coming out in support of Hamas and Palestinians instead of Israel.  The President of Harvard has publicly stated the student groups do not speak for Harvard, but students are allowed free speech.

To be fair, there are also many pro-Israel rallies or demonstrations being held also but the pro-Hamas groups are the ones getting the lion share of coverage.  Why?  The media loves video that inflames and causes emotional responses because that looks better on television.  The people organizing these demonstrations know that.

The other thing involved is how the universities' professors fueling disdain for Israel.  There has long been an emphasis on liberal to socialist thinking in American universities in general and this support for Hamas and Palestinians fits in with that liberal move.  Who else could justify the murder of babies?  The Palestinians scream that is not true however it was Hamas terrorists who released the pictures.  The liberal arm of education is fostering the move to support terrorist activities specifically against Israel.  This people are idiots who do not know their history.  History will show how Jews have been abused throughout history and they have fought to have a small place in the world.  This land the Palestinians want was actually given to Israel four thousand years ago and fought for through the centuries.

When our colleges and universities foster an atmosphere the promotes the support of terrorists, we have crossed a line that will weaken our country and weaken our people overall.  The lack of unity against those who have no problem gunning down hundreds of people at a music festival weakens us as humanity.  Those who are pro-Palestinian who excuse the terrorist activity because Israel has fought to protect their land are causing a decline in moral reasoning and moral justice.  Their right to free speech weakens us all due to their lack of education and ability to reason.  We can thank our liberal education system for this.
