Who Cares What I Think?

I recently watched the calendar flip over on my sixty-ninth birthday. It gave me reason to sit back and think about where I am in my life and, thankfully, have a little barbecue. As I read so much that is written about the events in our world today, I very quickly realize my view on things is not in lockstep with those “experts” writing out our history today. In the American society today, many will say that is good but many who will say that don’t really mean what they say.

 

I am going to share my thoughts on today’s top stories in this blog and file them away for history. I realize most probably won’t care about my views, but I think it’s important to get the viewpoints of those who have to deal with decisions others inflict on us. I want to leave a contribution regardless of how small it may actually be so when I am dead and gone someone, probably just my family, will be able to read my thoughts and opinions on the world on the day it is written and know I was not sitting idly by watching the world go by like a lazy Fourth of July parade.  

I have many interests and that will be reflected in my blog. I am keenly interested in politics, world events, religion, and how strange our society has become. I want to write about those things from my sixty-nine-year-old eyes and hopefully it will be somewhat entertaining. Will I come off half-cocked on some subjects? Probably but I hope it will still have some value even if it is giving a hot emotional reaction to some of the growing absurdities in our world. This is my best shot at a legacy, so I hope someone in the “great out there” enjoys it.
