A New Option for President?

Joe Manchin, Democratic Senator from West Virginia, has announced he will not be running for re-election to the Senate.  Rumor has it, Manchin was going to have a hard time getting re-elected because of a very popular Republican governor deciding he wanted Joe's seat.  So, if you have a better than decent chance of losing an election, let's run for President of the United States.

Manchin has endeared himself to many people across the United States because he stood up to some of the changes Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi wanted.  In some of those situations, Joe Manchin was actually the most powerful person involved.  He didn't shove that power down the throats of those wanting something from him, but we came across as reasoned and principled in his decisions.  We don't see that very much in Washington, D.C.

There is a group called "No Labels" who do not like their choices for President of the United States.  According to many polls, that may actually be a majority of Americans.  So, it seems like a good idea to run a reasoned and principled person who is not nearing ninety years of age or working to stay out of courtrooms across the country.  

I think the United States is ready for someone like Joe Manchin.  I'm not necessarily ready to vote for Joe Manchin. I have my own preference for President and her campaign is gaining steam every day. We are ready for some commonsense approach to governing minus all of the extreme philosophies and minus all of the name calling.  See Nikkihaley.com

Dying in Chicago Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

September 6, 2025- Saturday I haven’t had much to say lately about the news and that's probably good. The constant news cycle has worn me out. I still listen to the news so I will know what is happening, but I have cut out much of the news because of all the negativity that gets repeated several times per hour. We now have word that seven people were killed in Chicago over the Labor Day weekend. Over thirty people were shot or injured in the shootings. The weekly shootings and killing in Chicago, Illinois has been constant for the last several years. It is debatable as to who all is doing the shooting, but the fact is, the shooting continues on a weekly basis in Chicago and nothing the political and law enforcement leaders do in Chicago changes anything. Maintenance Means Learning and Sharing

September 2025  Topic of the Day- Life. Like Architecture, is a ver. If designed well, it works. It’s beautiful, and it needs no directions. It needs maintenance. How does one effectively maintain well in life? Some people are very goal oriented and seem to be obsessed with self-improvement. I think a lot of maintaining our lives is actually improving ourselves as we go through life. Maintenance in life is improving and moving forward, mostly through education.   One concept I was not taught in school is the concept of lifelong learning.
