Rashida Tlaib Censured- What's Wrong in Michigan?

November 8, 2023- Wednesday- Rashida Tlaib Censured

Yesterday, the House of Representatives censured one of its members for inflammatory language directed at all Jewish people. Rashida Tlaib from Michigan is a person of Palestinian descent. Born in Michigan, her parents are from the West Bank or Judea and Samaria next to Israel. What caused this censure was her use of the phrase, “from the river to the sea.” That has long been a Muslim and Palestinian rallying cry directed toward Israel imploring the total annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people.

Tlaib is a Palestinian and she is a Muslim. That in and of themselves is not the problem in her situation. The use of a term of annihilation of other people is the problem. She is backtracking big time now that she has been challenged for the use of the destructive phrase. This time, many people are not buying what she is trying to sell.

For many years now, there has been so much conversation across the United States and other countries on how we all should be much more tolerant of other people and other people’s beliefs. Remember, diversity is our strength. We are to love everyone and be inclusive of others and their beliefs. That is unless, of course, you are an Israeli Jew and then you are to be totally destroyed. We are being told we need to be tolerant of all Muslims but not tolerant of Israelis. After all, it is supposed to be tolerated that several hundred Israelis can be murdered without provocation because that is part of the goal from the river to the sea.

Rahida Tlaib has been in Congress now for three terms. How is it that someone of this level of hatred can ever be re-elected in the United States? This is where the real problem exists. There are people in Michigan who believe this person is doing a good job and is worthy of continually representing them in Congress. This constitutes several thousand people who are okay with her idea of pushing Israel into oblivion. They justify her hatred for Jewish people by leaving her in office. The position she holds is not a new position and the people in her Congressional District know how she believes. This Congressional District does not believe in the whole idea of diversity and inclusion. This district’s mantra is “believe what we believe or be destroyed”.

We are expected to be tolerant of Tlaib and her desire to see Israel destroyed. Congress was correct in censuring her hate speech and our country will be stronger with Tlaib out of the House of Representatives.
