Adios, Dallas Mavericks
March 17, 2025- Monday Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am 70 years old, and I’ve always been a sports fan. I really wanted to play football in junior high and high school, if not college, but my dad wouldn’t allow it. I played a lot of pick-up football, baseball and basketball ga mes when I was younger, and I’ve continued to watch and enjoy sports to this day. Like everything in life, sport is changing. Sport has become political with men claiming they identify as women and wanting to compete with women rather than me. College sports is now professional sports with athletes being paid to play for colleges. That has taken away some of my excitement for college sports. There’s also a lot of stupidity in sports and that i s not necessarily anything new. That was recently on vivid display with the Dallas Mavericks when the general manager, Nico Harrison, traded generational player, Luka Doncic, to the Los Angeles Lakers.
