Build a What?

 Alejandro Mayorkas, Director of Homeland Security for the United States has stated publicly for the last three years that the border between Mexico and the United States is secure. Vice President Kamala Harris, the "border czar" has told the people of Central and South America to not come to the United States.  The Biden Administration has sued the State of Texas and Governor Greg Abbott because Abbott ordered a floating fence placed in the Rio Grande River to stop people from coming across the Rio Grande River into Texas.  Why did Abbott feel the need to do this when we have been told repeatedly by the Biden Administration there is no border problem?  That's because there is a problem.  A massive problem. 

Over two million people came across our southern border illegally in 2022.  Now more than that have crossed over our "secure" border in 2023.  That's four million people who have entered the United States illegally in two years.  Where are these people to go? Are there jobs for these people who cannot speak the language for the most part? They have no food and precious little money if they have any at all. 

Last night, Director Mayorkas notified the media, it was time for a border wall.  What? A What? You mean a wall like the one President Donald Trump started building to keep all of the illegals out of the country and the one President Joe Biden stopped building on Day One of his presidency?  Are you talking about that wall?  

We have immigration policies and processes in place.  Many Democratic politicians say the process is broken and needs to be fixed.  Well, Fix It Then!  This has been complained about for over twenty years.  Do Something About It.  If it is really that big of a deal, then why hasn't this been addressed over the past two decades?  The process we have may not be great but stick with what you have until the pain of not changing it is so great you decide to truly do something about it.  Most of these people in control in Washington, D.C. is not totally stupid.  Yet, it appears we're living by the edict of "if you continue to do what you've continued to do, you'll continue to get what you've always gotten!

The Democrats have had two years where they had complete control of the government.  They chose to do nothing at all about immigration policies when they had carte blanche.  Why didn't they address it?  One simple reason.  Votes.  They are banking on the very real possibility of letting all of these illegal people into the United States and then throw up their hands and say, "We can't do anything about the problem.  So, we'll give them all amnesty and the right to vote."  This idea has already been floated in the "not-so-great" state of New York.  The Democrats are banking on being able to control the government and then society on the assumption all of the illegals are going to vote for them.

None of this even comes close to addressing all of the illegal human trafficking that is involved with our open southern border.  It doesn't address the illegal drugs being brought through our gaping holes in the border.  No one even wants to talk about potential terrorists and known criminals coming across the border.  

Well, we should all be grateful Mayorkas is finally doing something to slow the flood of illegals coming into the country.  Tomorrow let's talk about the Sanctuary Cities and their actions.
