Sports- Dallas Cowboys Fall Short Against Philadelphia

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday 28-23.  If you like football, it was a very good football game.  There were key plays that were made and key plays that failed.  There was also good drama at the end of the game with Dallas falling about three yards short of winning the game after moving the football from deep in their own territory.  There were mistakes made that caused the game to be even closer.  Why did Dallas lose?  Why did Philadelphia win?

The key position players made big plays.  The plays called on both sides were very good.  The difference in this game was that Philadelphia offensive line beat the Dallas defensive line.  Philadelphia ran the ball better than Dallas and they were able to protect their quarterback better than Dallas did.  

I can't complain about the play of Dak Prescott for the Cowboys because he played very well.  He ran when he needed to run.  He made some very good passes and there were no interceptions.  Overall, the Cowboys played well but that is the difference this morning.  Philadelphia is just a few offensive linemen better than the Cowboy are.  That shows the Cowboys continue to be a second-tier team behind Philadelphia and San Francisco.  

Dallas may beat Philadelphia when the Eagles come to Dallas later in the season.  Injuries between now and then may dictate much of what happens but if things stay as they are, in an emotional contest with playoffs on the line, Dallas could win.  Can Dallas beat Philadelphia twice in a season.  I don't see that happening.  It still looks like Philadelphia and San Francisco slugging it out for the Super Bowl berth, not the Cowboys.

Dying in Chicago Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

September 6, 2025- Saturday I haven’t had much to say lately about the news and that's probably good. The constant news cycle has worn me out. I still listen to the news so I will know what is happening, but I have cut out much of the news because of all the negativity that gets repeated several times per hour. We now have word that seven people were killed in Chicago over the Labor Day weekend. Over thirty people were shot or injured in the shootings. The weekly shootings and killing in Chicago, Illinois has been constant for the last several years. It is debatable as to who all is doing the shooting, but the fact is, the shooting continues on a weekly basis in Chicago and nothing the political and law enforcement leaders do in Chicago changes anything. September 2025  Topic of the Day- Life. Like Architecture, is a ver. If designed well, it works. It’s beautiful, and it needs no directions. It needs maintenance. How does one effectively maintain well in life? Some people are very goal oriented and seem to be obsessed with self-improvement. I think a lot of maintaining our lives is actually improving ourselves as we go through life.
