The Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump

We are now six days out from the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.  As more information becomes available, we are finding this shooting should have never occurred.  The gunman was seen positioning himself to shoot Trump and law enforcement individuals were told someone was on top of the roof of a nearby building.  This is an assassination attempt that should never have happened.   

The building where the gunman positioned himself was much too close to the podium where Trump was speaking for to not have a protective law enforcement on it.  This whole situation should never have developed much less occurred.  That leads us to what happens now. 

First, will be all the grandstanding by the politicians, especially Republicans, who will be working hard to have the Director of the Secret Service replaced.  It was not her fault the event happened, but she is the one ducking questions and insinuating the local police were the ones responsible for the breakdown.  

The second thing will be the review of the plans of protection for the former president which will show others negligent in their work to plan for the protection of the high-profile individual. There were some basic things that were missed by the Secret Service and these kinds of mistakes are worthy of termination of employment.  

Future protection will change dramatically because of this failure.  It will change at least in the short term.  When people are appointed to positions, they should never have, mistakes tend to be repeated and the history of events, whether negative or positive, seem to be forgotten.  Whether we want to admit this or not, politics caused this shooting to happen, but it will unfortunately probably be repeated because those in politics do not like to lose control over decisions that provide them will more power.   

The United States has the best form of government going.  The republic form of government allows individuals to have a voice in how things happen in government.  It is not perfect, however.  Many people who love power and control migrate to government positions and they find ways to potentiate not only their control but their ideologies that allow for poor planning like we saw last Saturday.  Unfortunately, the family of Corey Comperatore is burying him today and will begin to find a way to negotiate through this life without him.  All of this because of poor planning.

Dying in Chicago Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

September 6, 2025- Saturday I haven’t had much to say lately about the news and that's probably good. The constant news cycle has worn me out. I still listen to the news so I will know what is happening, but I have cut out much of the news because of all the negativity that gets repeated several times per hour. We now have word that seven people were killed in Chicago over the Labor Day weekend. Over thirty people were shot or injured in the shootings. The weekly shootings and killing in Chicago, Illinois has been constant for the last several years. September 2025  Topic of the Day- Life. Like Architecture, is a ver. If designed well, it works. It’s beautiful, and it needs no directions. It needs maintenance. How does one effectively maintain well in life? Some people are very goal oriented and seem to be obsessed with self-improvement. I think a lot of maintaining our lives is actually improving ourselves as we go through life.
