Truth- What's a Truth You Live By?

One thought I recently read was this, "Knowing the truth, seeing the truth, and telling the truth, are all different experiences. 

Truth is a moving target in our world today.  People portray their perspectives on subjects or situations as truth when it is actually just their own opinions.  Many problems have more than one solution but, based on a person's worldview, it becomes truth to them. Sometimes this becomes an absolute truth to them. 

There was a time in our society when people depended on the news media for the truth in different situations. Those days are gone. Those running the news media outlets today are working to shape the public's opinion on topics, which usually means they are presenting a half-truth. Lester Hold of NBC News said they did not have to report both sides of an issue, they just had to report the truth. Interpreted, that means the truth as he and NBC wants it to be.  Again, after watching many, many hours of new reports, I have found reporting the truth usually means half of the truth.  That is where I have lost faith in the new media. 

I find I am spending more of my time working to find what the real truth is in many situations because so much of what is being reported is actually individual's perspectives on a topic not a reporting of all of the facts associated with a situation. 

What I know is true is this; Biblical principles are true and work in any situation which tells me God is real and cares for me.  I know that almost all hatred I due to selfishness in some form. I believe greed is the greatest problem in the world whether it is for money or power.  Most people expect others to fix many of the problems in their lives rather than their first thought being how they can work to fix their problems. I know when people work together, many things can be accomplished, many times more than what was originally imagined.  I know liberal philosophies are many times opposite of Biblical principles and result in a lesser quality of life for the whole of society. 

I also know the Dallas Cowboys will not be in another Super Bowl as long as Jerry Jones is the General Manager.

Dying in Chicago Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

September 6, 2025- Saturday I haven’t had much to say lately about the news and that's probably good. The constant news cycle has worn me out. I still listen to the news so I will know what is happening, but I have cut out much of the news because of all the negativity that gets repeated several times per hour. We now have word that seven people were killed in Chicago over the Labor Day weekend. Over thirty people were shot or injured in the shootings. The weekly shootings and killing in Chicago, Illinois has been constant for the last several years. It is debatable as to who all is doing the shooting, but the fact is, the shooting continues on a weekly basis in Chicago and nothing the political and law enforcement leaders do in Chicago changes anything. Maintenance Means Learning and Sharing

September 2025  Topic of the Day- Life. Like Architecture, is a ver. If designed well, it works. It’s beautiful, and it needs no directions. It needs maintenance. How does one effectively maintain well in life? Some people are very goal oriented and seem to be obsessed with self-improvement. I think a lot of maintaining our lives is actually improving ourselves as we go through life. Maintenance in life is improving and moving forward, mostly through education.   One concept I was not taught in school is the concept of lifelong learning. To give ourselves, we need to continue to learn. There are those who choose to simply exist. These people are selfish. They are selfish because they are depriving others around them of all they can be by not maintaining themselves.
