Living With Caution
Question of the Day: Red lights and green lights tell us to stop and go. The art of living is in the yellow light. Where we have Choice. Will you put the pedal to the metal or slow down to stop?
Yellow lights are not indicative of the art of living. That’s foolish and an error in thinking. Yellow lights are caution lights indicating change is taking place or danger is near. If someone is going to view that yellow light as where the art of life is, they will get burned and they will get hurt.
There are people who do take this view and perpetually live their life in the yellow caution zone and live their lives in strife and turmoil. Yes, they have a choice, and they did not choose wisely. I know I spend a lot of time theoretically looking for yellow lights. As a manager, I looked for areas of possible problems so I could eliminate enough of those situations before they had a chance to become problems. Part of my development of a diplomatic nature was so I could avoid problems. Problems create negativity. Although much can be learned from problems and finding resolutions to problems, too many times they arise because of little foresight and poor planning.
One could equate these yellow lights as calculated risks but be careful about the calculations. One must learn to ignore some things because the calculated risk is not worth the subsequent story. There are many people who are searching to create outrageous stories so they can be noticed. Outrageous stories are usually short-lived, but people are starving for attention, and they crave that ten minutes of fame. Yellow means be careful.
